The #1 Marketing Must-Have You Need to Get Started

Let me ask you a question… Where are you in your business, right now? How are things going?

Is your business where you want it to be? If it’s not, why is that?

In our business, there are certain things we have to have in order to successfully grow. Some of them may seem completely logical, and others may be a little less clear. And, I know, there are a lot of people out there missing critical pieces of their marketing that would really help them grow their business profitably.

I once had a friend tell me that the biggest mistake business owners and entrepreneurs make is that they wait to market. Instead of investing in marketing upfront, they wait… and wait… and wait. She is 100% correct.

Many people seem to think having a solid marketing strategy is a “nice-to-have” and not a “must-have.”

Now, I’m not saying that everyone is ready to jump into paid traffic. What I am saying is that everyone is ready to market their business – whether that is organic, through paid traffic, networking, or anything else.

Whatever it is you choose, there are certain must-haves you’ll want in place in order to begin marketing your business successfully.

Here is the #1 Marketing Must-Have to Get You Started!

You need a clear goal!

If you don’t know where you’re going, how can you know when you get there?

Having a clear goal in your marketing is incredibly important because it allows you to create a map of how to get to that goal. Without a clear goal you are moving towards, you are just kind of driving around aimlessly.

Make sure your goals are SMART – specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound. SMART goals make it clear what it is that you really want.

Specific: What is the exact aim of your marketing plan.

Measurable: Look at the numbers and know what they mean.

Attainable: Attainability is different for everyone and that is okay! Look at what it is you can actually accomplish within the set time frame.

Realistic: Ask yourself what you are willing to go in order to reach your goal, realistically.

Time-bound: Put a definitive end date on your goal. All marketing should be time-bound anyway!

Having goals for your marketing will help you to accelerate your growth. It will really impact what it is that you’re doing. And, when you goal-set using the SMART method, you’re better able to assess what will work in the long term.

I challenge you to sit down and create a SMART goal marketing plan for the next ninety days. Really dive into creative marketing to create a marketing plan that will move you in the right direction.
