Social media platforms have created a perfect way for starting or established companies to reach the masses. Gone are the boring ads, we now can offer interactive possibilities that will entertain the audience. It is important to learn how to utilize social media marketing allowing your company to benefit from its popularity.

The key to your social media marketing is to never forget that conversation is important!

Building relationships and having conversations with your audience can, and will, build your following and thereby your business. Respond with a post from on your page. Whether it is good or bad, responding is a necessity. Thank them for the positive comments and let them know you appreciate them. If the post is negative, engage with them to understand why. If it is justified, use the information to help move your company forward.

I have said this before, but if you are using social media to promote your product or business and you have written a blog post, promote it on your Facebook page as well, and all of your social media platforms. Write the promotion as part of your blogging process. Share the link to your in a post to your blog. Then all of your contacts have access with just a click. If they like it, it is just another click to share and let the magic of marketing begin!

Sign up for Twitter.

Get as many followers as you can by signing up for blogging sites like Tweepi.com. Using a site like this makes it easier for people to find you on Twitter. Tweet regularly about other bloggers. You should also automate your tweets so they aren’t forgotten about by your followers.
While we want to get the sale, be it of a product or a service, product pushing to generate followers is not the best way. Post stories or links from external providers that may be of interest to your followers, industry or niche. Use your posts to connect, build a relationship. Share photos, quotes, interesting facts, do surveys. Keep your followers interested and engaged with things that they will respond to. People should be able to identify with your brand and consider it as a part of their daily lives looking forward to checking in to see what you have to say.

You will make mistakes in your social media marketing.

Mistakes happen to the best of us. There could be a post that offends some niche group, or a typo that, even with your best efforts slip through! Handle the mistakes professionally and quickly, admit it, and learn from them.

LinkedIn may be less popular than Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, but you can find many business professionals from around the world on this site. Add a LinkedIn ‘share’ button on your articles, and chances are that someone who shares your content on LinkedIn will cause dozens of people to share it on other websites. The world is really LinkedIn!

Another great way is to work with others who share the same target market and promote each other’s blog or do guest blogs. Make sure that there is no conflict of interest between businesses. It would be best if your businesses complement each other. This will possibly bring more followers and potential clients to you.

What do you think? Are these things you can implement into your marketing plan?
