Hey there. Welcome back to Marketing Matchmaker. I have really had so much fun the last couple of weeks diving into profitable marketing. You know, my thought with marketing has always been it is investment in your business. There is no doubt about that. And on the opposite end of that, there should be an ROI that comes from your marketing. Now, whether that comes immediately or down the road, well, that's debatable.

However, there are definite signals that you can look at when you go through your marketing of whether or not it's going to be profitable in the long run. And it's also about avoiding giving up when it comes to your marketing. That was actually what episode one was dived into a lot of that marketing mindset, revolving around profitably marketing your business.

Because let's be honest, marketing is essential to your business and mindset is really what creates 90% of the success in our life and our businesses.

So when we shift our mindset, we can create profitable marketing in an easier way. And then last week episode was actually about profitable marketing beyond, well, I said Facebook and reality is it was beyond social media. There are other options out there to market your business that can be as effective as running ads or hanging out on social media.

It's a matter of knowing what they are, how to implement them and whether or not your business is going to benefit from doing them. So this week we are diving into profitable marketing secrets. You know, those things that the gurus will never tell you.

Here's the thing I know that oftentimes we buy from or follow people who tell us what we want to hear, right? It's give them what they want, roll that back. It's sell them what they want to give them what they need.

And when we see things in social media or in ads that seem to be too good to be true quite often, they are.

So this week we're going to dive into some of those secrets, slash lies, slash myths, that you see so often and that you buy into. I want every member of my audience to really get a true idea of what it takes to market and grow and scale a six and seven figure business, because it is different than simply creating a job for yourself, right?

When you are looking at growing a business beyond six and seven figures, you're looking at growing a company and that requires different mentality. It requires different tactics and it requires different actions than when you're just getting started. And you're reaching for that first six figures. Also some of these things that you see and hear on Facebook or in ads or whatever, from the gurus, they leave out so much of what needs to happen beforehand, that it makes it look like you can do it yourself without any work, without any guidance. You can just take this blueprint and run off.

And the reality is that's not actually what happens. So the first of the secrets is that a six figure launch doesn't require a lot of work. I have seen this over and over and over again where someone says, I ran a six figure launch and I only spent five hours doing it. And I made a hundred thousand dollars, $1,200 whatever, whatever the amount is.

Here's the reality. 97% of the time they have this huge launch, they make this money is because they've already designed, developed, and grown, and nurtured an audience that is going to buy from them every time they sell something. Which is awesome for them, because that's what we're all looking for, right? We're all looking to create that audience that will continue to buy from us over and over again.

But what it really means for us out in the real world, when someone says that they created six figures in a launch, is that the same formula will work for you. And that my friends is not necessarily the case. So if they give you X, Y, Z blueprint, right, that you can just take it and implement it and create the same results. But what it neglects is the amount of work the months, years, sometimes decades of work they have done in order to create this business in order to create this six figure launch.

Yes, it is absolutely possible to create a business and a six figure business within 90 days, within six months, within 12 months, all of those are possibilities and it's not every person that it's going to happen for, because if it was every person out there would be doing it right now. So when we look at what those gurus are selling us, when it comes to the six-figure launch, there's absolutely great information from them. And you can gather a lot of bits of nuggets of what to do. And yet if you follow their plan, exactly, you may not get the same results.

And that is the big secret that not everyone who uses their methodology gets the same results.

Another myth that or secret, or well, quite frankly, could be determined as a lie that happens in my industry, especially is that Facebook ads or LinkedIn ads or Google ads or any ads in and of themselves are cheap. And that they're really easy to run and make a million dollars by only spending $10 a day. Here's the reality to that several years ago, probably 5, 6, 7, 10 years ago. Yes. That was absolutely the case.

In today's day and age. That is not true. It just is not. $10 a day is a great starting point to run ads with, but it's not the ending point. When you are looking at really starting to run ads for your business. You want to look at it from the perspective of investing in ad spend the same amount you would create to get when someone buys from you. So for instance, if you have a $3,000 product or service, your package is $3,000. You should expect to spend a minimum of $3,000 each month in order to do that.

The thing is, is that oftentimes people want to sell a $47 item and expect to be able to run $47 ads, and that they're going to bring them a million dollars. That my friends is just not the truth. Again, when you see people who are running ads like that, oftentimes they have built an entire audience and following first that they can sell and market those ads to, to buy that $47 product. So they have that coming in.

In today's ads world, you are looking at probably between $10 and $20 per lead, which means if you're running ads at $10 a day, you may get one or two leads. Is that going to move the needle for you? That's the question you should ask yourself because if, if two leads a day and a lead doesn't necessarily mean that they're signing up on for a call for you or to buy from you. A lead is someone who comes into your email list that you get to nurture.

And it depends on how good your nurture series is on when they decide to sign up for a call or to buy your product services solution. Like that is I think the biggest myth when it comes to running ads is that you are going to see massive results, 6, 7, 8 times your, ad spend within 30 days. And that it's only going to take you a hundred bucks. It's not the truth. And that's what I really want.

I want you to take away from this section this; ads are powerful tools.

They are capable of creating massive growth in your business. And if you do not have the money to fully invest in ads right now, that's okay. It is okay to use different marketing methods in order to grow your business. When you are running to ready to run ads, and you have that financial backing in order to invest in the time, it will two run ads. That's when you do it. When you know that you can run ads for at least three to six months, and maybe not make all of your money back immediately, that's when you want to start investing in ads.

The next marketing myth, lie, secret, is that success in your business, creating a six and seven figure business is fast and easy. So success doesn't have to be hard. Let's let's say that upfront success can be easy. It's the question becomes, what does success mean to you? Here's the thing easy and fast is what sells in the industry.

Let's be honest, it's what you are selling in your business. Whether you are a money mindset coach, and you're selling how to make more money fast, or you are a health coach and you are selling how to drop weight really fast. Those are the things that people want. Why? Because we are an instant gratification society. And so we want to be able to do whatever it is we wanna do fast and easy. We don't wanna put in the work and the effort.

And here's the reality; business and marketing don't work that way. You get to put in the time and the effort it takes to really grow a profitable business, a profitable marketing strategy, that will help you to grow and scale to exponential points. So fast and easy aren't necessarily lies because it can be possible to do fast or easy, fast and easy aren't necessarily always going to get you where you want to go.

When you're really looking at creating that six and seven figure business, that you've always dreamed of that empire or making those massive changes in the world that you've really wanted to do. Come at this with the mindset that you are willing to put in the time, energy, and effort, it takes to make it successful. You will do what it takes to move the needle every day. And that is what ends up making your business successful and thriving.

And it's also what makes your marketing successful. Being willing to look at it every day and going, okay, what can I do today, that will move that needle that much further in the direction I needed to go.

When getting started, keep in mind that it generally takes about six to 12 months to really create that funnel lead generation source. It's why I tell you all of the time to market as fast as possible, as soon as possible start marketing your business. Because you need to have a lead gen source of some kind, whether that's through funnels and ads or whether that's through networking or whether that's through some other type of marketing, you need to be able to have those people you can reach out to when you have an opening in your product services solution, in order to continually grow, you continually need leads coming in.

And sometimes it can take a while to nurture those leads, right? They may not hop on a call with you immediately and be ready to buy. It may take a couple of months before they come back and say, yes, I wanna buy from you. Which means putting in the time, energy and effort to create that funnel, to create that lead generation source that will continually bring people to your door.

This next lie is something I think happens, I don't necessarily think gurus say this. I think it's something that we say in our own mindset, or maybe we've heard from parents or somebody else, but it's the idea that failure is a bad thing. I guess if failure is you giving up, it absolutely is a bad thing. However, for me, failure is just about feedback. It's learning what didn't work.

This marketing effort did not work, great. What was it that didn't work? It's about becoming curious about that next thing that you can do, those tweaks you can make, that will really help you to grow your business.

Which also I think this, I had these as separate, but I think they're actually kind of the same, that trying to replicate the past success without making any pivots in the current market is also not something that you wanna do. These are things that are going to stagnate your business, right? The idea that you can't fail, right? Here's the thing I won't fail because I won't give up. And that my friends is when you look at failure is the idea behind it. It's the idea of not giving up your business of not giving up marketing, of throwing your hands up and saying, it's not working and walking away and hiding.

That is failure. However, if you tried something in your marketing and it didn't work, that's just feedback. It's looking at it and going, okay, what didn't work about it? What didn't connect, why wasn't my audience interested in this? That is very different. When you're looking at your business structure in general, looking at what worked five years ago, or even two years ago, let's be honest. We're still coming out of the pandemic.

What worked in 2019 may not work in 2022.

We get to look at what the market is right now and pivot our business to meet the market instead of trying to do what worked years ago, or even sometimes six months ago. Cause let's also be honest. The world moves really fast. And as business owners, we get to also pivot with that, especially in our marketing.

When you look at it from the perspective of curiosity, that I get to learn what worked in the past, I can try it, but if it's not working, I can pivot and make something or create something. Whether that's a new program or a new lead magnet or whatever that is, that is going to help you really to continue to grow and scale your business.

We have all pivoted our business in the last two years. Some people to extraordinary lengths and other people haven't. Those that haven't are the ones that are struggling. So keep in mind that if your business is struggling right now, it may be time to look at it and see what you can do to pivot to a different direction.

This last myth is one that I say a lot. It is the idea that one size fits all marketing works. Here's the reality; it doesn't.

No matter what the gurus say, there is no one size fits all marketing because while there are pieces of marketing that are standard throughout, right? It's about the customer journey. It's about creating a connection with your business, with your audience. It's about providing value to that audience, being authentic to who you are, and really creating a connection to them and developing relationships.

That's why we call it Dating Your Ideal Client. While those are absolutely pieces that will never change this idea, that you can take somebody else's marketing plan and implement it into your own business is just false because your business is unique and your audience is unique. The people who like you and the people who follow your competitor are not necessarily the same people.

There may be some overlap, and yet people are connected to you because you are who you are. So taking somebody else's marketing plan or marketing blueprint or anything like that, and trying to implement it in your business without making changes to address the fact that your audience and you are unique, is always doomed to fail.

That means that if you're going to buy the guru's marketing plan, that you're going to invest, whatever in somebody's course that teaches you exactly how to do what they did, that you wanna go in with it, with the, with the thought that this is a learning tool, I can see what they did and I can see how it will work for me rather than trying to replicate exactly what it was they did.

The true key to profitable marketing is really becoming curious, being willing to try new things and make changes when things don't work, being willing to never give up on your business, on your audience, on what changes you wanna make in the world, your audience is out there. Your business can be profitable. It can reach those six and seven figures that you've always dreamed of. And you get to find the way that works best for you, for your business and for your audience.
