Jennifer: Hey there, welcome back to marketing matchmaker. Last week, we were diving into the heart of AI and how you can use it in your marketing to really grow your business. It was a fascinating discussion with a creator of AI. So, if you haven’t had a chance to listen, I’d suggest heading over there and giving it a listen, it really will kind of expand your thought process when it comes to AI- super fascinating talk that we had. This week, I wanted to dive into a discussion that I was having with a client about their ads, we were really talking about how we use their ads as a feedback loop in their business, really helping them to understand what’s going on in their market. It’s kind of- have you ever noticed how some marketers always seem to have the inside track, you know, those gurus that you follow? They seem to be effortlessly navigating the marketing maze that is online digital marketing. Today, I wanted to dive into their secret strategy. You see, instead of shouting out into the void, these gurus have really mastered the art of active listening. And here’s the thing I know you as a business owner, do actively listen to your clients and you probably even actively listen to your audience. However, what these marketers have excelled at that you might not be doing, is turning ads from a one way broadcast out there into the world to receive leads into an interactive conversation. They’re staying in sync with their audiences ever evolving needs and by doing that they’re growing and scaling at a more rapid pace. I know every one of you out there have are following somebody that you see as that next step in your business. And if you ever wonder how that got there, this episode’s going to explain exactly that.

So imagine, for a moment that every business decision you made wasn’t accompanied by a GPS, telling you make a right here, make a left there, or, as my GPS told me earlier today, make a U-turn. I mean, if we had a GPS in our business that told us exactly what steps to make, that would be pretty awesome, right? In the world of marketing, that GPS is called a feedback loop. And when you pair a feedback loop with your ads, you have created a tool that is vastly superior to just making questions or interviewing your audience. Think of it like this, if you were in a canyon, and you called out, you hear that echo back, right? Here’s the thing, it’s more than just an echo. It’s valuable information. It helps you gauge the impact of your voice, it assesses its reach, and it determines if there’s any reaction from the other side. The thought process behind this is really that rather than using ads as simply a method of gathering leads, or releasing it into the wild with your fingers crossed to hope it works. You learn to actively listen to the ads to the responses, you get the engagement, the metrics, all of these things give you an immense amount of insight into your business and more importantly, into your audience. It reveals what connecting with your audience, and what might need tweaking, and the really amazing thing is, is that it does it quickly. This client that I was talking about earlier, the discussion we had was really about the speed at which we were able to pivot their ads and their business, because we could see immediately that that the message that we put out there wasn’t connecting. Using ads as part of your feedback loop really helps you to accelerate the growth of your business and the ability to scaling, because ads allow you to rapidly learn about what’s going on in your audience. Think of it like a new chef trying a recipe. They don’t just wait weeks to see if it’s ahead, they watch the immediate reaction to those first few bites. Likewise, with feedback loops in advertising, you’re in the know right away, sometimes within 24 to 48 hours, you get to understand did your content engage, was your message overlooked? It’s like having a direct line to your audience’s thoughts. There’s no more second guessing. It’s timely feedback that offers valuable insights into what’s working, and what might need a little more seasoning. Ads also allow you to make informed decisions in your business. So instead of guessing, you’re making tweaks and adjustments to your marketing, to your funnels, to your ads based on real, tangible feedback. Think of it like adjusting the seasoning on a dish based on taste testing, rather than assuming that a little more salt is needed. It really does help you to create decisions that are timely and effective right now, ads also can create cost efficiency in your business. And I know I hear you that’s an insane thing to say because most people think of ads as an expense. But what if we changed that thought process, because by understanding what works and what doesn’t, you save the resources by avoiding sinking money into in effective strategies. Using ads as a feedback loop allows you to quickly learn where to invest and where to cut back, which means you can ditch the strategies that aren’t giving you the bang for your buck, and double down on what’s working. Because no one wants to keep pouring cash into a strategy that is just not clicking. Ads also give you the opportunity to create tailored messaging. In the vast universe of advertising. Not all content resonates with every viewer. It’s kind of like expecting one suit size to fit everyone. It just doesn’t work well. Some people in your audience might be craving more of you, more of your stories. Others might need educational content they might be and eager to understand the intricacies and the why behind your brand. Now, if you were to serve the same content to both segments, one might feel left out or ignored. But here’s where the feedback loop really shines. And by using ads as a feedback loop, you’re able to gather this quickly.
By really looking at the reactions and more importantly listening to your audience’s feedback through the metrics, you can identify the unique tastes and preferences of your audiences. And armed with this knowledge, you can then craft messages that resonate deeply, speak directly to their individual needs and curiosity, and by continuously refining your message based on that feedback, you’re not just broadcasting, you’re engaging in a conversation, you’re actively listening, and you’re making each member of your audience feel like the content was custom made just for them. Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love having custom high touch in their business? The more tailored your message is, the better you’re able to create a strong customer-audience relationship. What if you had a compass guiding you straight to your audience’s desires, using ads as a feedback loop act as that compass, offering invaluable insights into emerging trends and subtle shifts in your audience’s tastes. By being ahead of the game, you’re better able to access that golden ticket in your business. And let me tell you, my friends, that’s exactly what those gurus are doing to help their audience grow and scale. Think of the power of ads as feedback loop as your secret playbook for business acceleration. It’s like continually fine tuning your instrument to the ever changing tune of your audience. Your marketing strategy transforms from a generic one-size-fits-all to a masterfully tailored ensemble that resonates deeply with those you serve. So I want to tell you a little story. Recently, a client was struggling with her ads. So we had launched a new download, and while the ads were getting great clicks, and people were landing on the landing page, the cost per lead were incredibly high, which told me when I looked at the data and really dove into the story of it to that feedback loop, it was the message that we had within the ads just wasn’t correlating enough with the message on the landing page. And it wasn’t giving them enough of a reason to step into giving us their email address. So we spent a couple of days making tweaks on the landing page. Now, here’s the thing with running ads, while you’re doing this, you can see within 24 to 48 hours, what adjustments are actually working, as opposed to organically driving traffic to something and it may take you months to figure out that this line was what was wasn’t working. We were able to turn her ads around from 20 to $25, a lead and get them down to $8, a lead within 48 hours. Now, I fully expect the cost per lead to continue to go down on her lead magnet. That being said, not only did that save her a ton of money by not having to bring in people at $20 per lead, and also increased the number of leads she was getting a day. That’s what I mean with the power of using ads as a feedback loop. It really does help you to accelerate the ability to make changes within your marketing. So if we look at every round of feedback as more than just a stepping stone, it’s kind of like a launching pad. And by consistently fine tuning your strategies and your messaging, based on that input, you’re not just enhancing the abilities of your campaign, you’re also speeding up the pace at which you can scale. So the power of a feedback loop and using ads as part of that feedback loop, doesn’t just make your strategy smarter. It makes your growth happen at an accelerated, almost turbo charged rate. And this process, when embraced wholeheartedly ensures you’re not just keeping pace, but you’re actually leading the race in your business, in your niche. It is how the guru’s go from zero to a million dollars, it is how they accelerate the rapid pace of their business growth. So using ads as feedback mechanism isn’t just a strategy. It’s really a transformative approach to your business. It helps you to, rather than just stay afloat, go full speed ahead towards success. And if you’ve been on the fence about embracing ads, think about the vast opportunities that you’re leaving unexplored. Every piece of feedback you get from ads, every hint of your audience is a nudge in the right direction. It’s a whisper in the wind of marketing guiding your sales. So I challenge you to harness the power of ads as feedback loops in your marketing strategy. If you’re ready to grow your business, increase your revenue and scale your impact, embrace the feedback loop and watch your business soar to levels of success you’ve only dreamed of.
