Oftentimes, I find that people think they have to use Facebook ads in their marketing strategy in order to be successful. The truth is, you don’t. Now, don’t get me wrong. I LOVE Facebook ads. I think they’re very effective. Facebook is the most prolific marketing platform on the internet today. Out of all of the social media platforms out there today, Facebook has the most users. You definitely want a presence on Facebook.
However, there are marketing choices you can make that are outside of being on Facebook or even things you can do to make Facebook work even better for you.
So, what can you do besides running Facebook ads?
Here are the 5 things you can do to profitably market your business beyond Facebook!
Video
I know, there’s a lot of fear around video. Sure, there are people out there who are not very nice. If you can move past the mindset of worrying about that, video will allow you to connect with your audience on a much deeper level. People want to be able to see, hear and know the people that they work with. Video really helps you to do that.
If your marketing goal is to get the attention of busy consumers and make a connection with them, video is the most highly effective medium.
Email list
Develop and cultivate your audience and then move them off of the social media platform and onto our email list. I don’t care what social media platform it is, that platform owns your audience. You need a way to contact and communicate with them that is off of a social media platform. You have control of your email list.
Your email list is your biggest asset in your marketing strategy when you grow it effectively. Your email list is who you will ultimately sell to. Very rarely will you make sales directly on social media. 90% of the time, even if they’ve seen your ads, the sale will happen once they’re on your email list.
Podcasting
I developed my own podcast in order to provide my audience with valuable content. In this day and age, podcasting is huge. There are more people out there now listening to podcasts than there ever have been before. And, it is not too late to hop on the bandwagon!
Podcasting is a fabulous way to create content that can be repurposed across multiple platforms for your audience. It’s also a valuable way to connect with your audience and share your knowledge so that you can show you’re the expert in your niche.
Affiliate and Influencer Marketing
Affiliate and influencer marketing is the fastest way to grow your audience without having to spend much money.
So what is this? Affiliate/influencer marketing is when you reach out to someone else in your circle of influence who has an audience that you want to tap into. It’s all about connecting with that power partner who has already developed an audience but doesn’t do what you do. Not only that, but they love what you do and are willing to allow you access to their audience.
If done well, you can reach a huge audience. If you have a large network but not a large audience, yet, this is a great way to start growing that audience.
Event Marketing
This is one of my favorite things to do with my clients! Think about having a Live Event! You’ll need to have an already established audience, network like crazy, and run ads. You can use a live event to upsell your audience on higher ticket masterminds and coaching packages.
You can also use online events to help bring in new clients by offering training and education. It is essential that, when hosting an event, you offer tons of value before ever attempting to sell or upsell.
