8 Pros to Marketing Your Business with Facebook Ads

*This is the first post in a series on paid traffic 101.

I love paid traffic. It really does offer a great way to speed up your business growth. Paid traffic really can accelerate your business’ growth timeline. Every business can hit six and seven figures. It’s just a matter of how you’re going to go about doing that. From my experience, I’ve found that paid ads are a great way to do it! Whether you’re running a low-budget ad or investing a good amount of money into your ads, you can bring in leads, sales, and grow your audience.

Facebook Ads is the number one platform to advertise your business. It is primarily a B to C (business to consumer/customer/client) platform. This means that you are selling to consumers as opposed to selling to other businesses.

When it comes to using FB ads there are many pros to keep in mind. Let’s explore them!

Here are 8 Pros to Marketing Your Business with Facebook Ads:

1. Facebook uses Interruption Marketing

Facebook uses interruption marketing as opposed to search engine marketing. What does this mean? Interruption marketing is like sitting in front of a TV and having ads served to you. You didn’t look for that ad, it was simply presented to you while you did something else. It interrupts what you are doing to present you with an item you might be interested in.

Facebook is incredible at this! Many people are wary of the amount of information that Facebook stores on each of us.  But it is precisely this that allows them to serve us ads for things we are actually interested in.

With interruption marketing, you can put a solution to a problem right in front of a person who may not even know they have that problem yet!

2. Anyone Can Advertise on Facebook

There is a slight caveat to this. There are rules and guidelines for advertising on Facebook. You can not sell drugs or weapons on Facebook. There are some other things that can’t be advertised on Facebook.

While almost anyone can advertise on Facebook, you have to be careful to follow their terms and conditions closely.

3. Opportunity to Connect with a Huge and Diverse Audience

With more than 2.8 billion monthly active users on its platform, Facebook can serve as the center stage of your marketing drive. It is the largest social media platform out there.

No matter who your customers are, they are likely to use Facebook and check up on the platform multiple times a day. You can also micro-target that audience. I joke sometimes that you can target right down to someone’s shoe size.

You can create custom audiences to gain more info. You can also build lookalike audiences, which is amazing!

4. Reach People Based on Your Unique Business Goals

Every business has a unique set of goals. Your goal might be to grow your email list. Great. Facebook ads can help you do that! Depending on your goals, you are better able to set up an ad that will deliver on that.

5. Decide your own Budget

Let’s say you only want to spend five dollars a day. You can absolutely set your Facebook ad spend to five dollars a day and let it roll. Now, your budget should depend on your goal for the ad. It’s very easy to set a budget and stick to it on Facebook.

6. Ad Placements Options

Facebook offers a plethora of ad placement options and this is a great way to test what’s working in your business. You can place ads in people’s feeds. These ads appear as people scroll through their Facebook or Instagram feeds and inboxes on both mobile and desktop. You can place ads in stories. These ads appear as full-screen vertical ads in between people’s stories.

You can do in-stream ads. These appear while users consume video content on Facebook and Instagram. You can use search ads. These ads are shown alongside search results on Facebook and Marketplace.

You can set up message ads. These are shown as sponsored messages via Messenger. This strategy is really working well right now for some of my clients. You can opt for in-article ads. These appear in articles within Facebook’s mobile app.

You can even use apps ads. These ads appear as native or video ads across apps on the Audience Network. There is a ton of flexibility and the ability to grow.

7. You Can Use Images and Videos

Combining images and video with copy will grab your audience’s attention. You can also test if your audience gravitates more towards video or image.

8. Easy to Determine Cost Per Conversion

Since Facebook Ads Manager makes it easy for you to determine your cost per conversion (CPC), this allows you to calculate profits. Depending on which industry you are in and which audience you are targeting, the cost per click is relatively cheap

While there are many pros and a few cons to running Facebook ads, it is always best when done by professionals. Honestly, if you’re going to DIY your FB ads, at least take a good course so you know what you’re doing. Otherwise, seek help from a Facebook ads expert!
