There is no doubt about it, marketing is an investment in your business. However, there should be an ROI (return on investment) that comes as a result of your marketing efforts. Your ROI may not come immediately, it could come down the road. This is why it’s important not to give up on your marketing too soon.
It’s all a matter of knowing your options, how to implement them, and whether or not your business will benefit from these marketing strategies!
Let’s talk secrets. You know, those things the gurus will never reveal.
Often, we’ll buy from or follow people who tell us what we want to hear. They make things seem easy or like you can do them yourself. The reality is, that’s usually not true. When we see things in ads that seem too good to be true, quite often, they are.
Let’s look at some of those secrets and assess whether or not we should be buying into them.
Here are the top 4 profitable marketing secrets (and whether or not you should buy into them!)
You Can Have a 6-Figure Launch! (If You Sell to A Warm Audience.)
Most gurus who are able to have a six-figure lunch with little to no effort are selling to a very warm audience.
I see this all the time. Someone will post that they spent only five hours on their launch and they made 100k. The thing is, they were launching to their already warm audience.
They spent years building and nurturing an audience that will buy almost anything from them. This is awesome for them, and honestly, it’s what we all aspire to. However, their five-hour launch formula likely won’t work for you unless you’ve also spent years nurturing your list and that audience is already there to buy anything you have to offer.
Ads are Hard (But They Can be Worth it!)
It used to be relatively easy and cheap to run Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, or any other type of ad. That is no longer the reality.
It helps to think about your ad spend in relation to the cost of your product or service. If you have a product that costs 3k, expect to spend 3k each month to run ads. The idea is that the ads will bring in far more than one purchase per month.
Another thing to consider is that if you’re running ads for a $47 product, and spending about $47 per month, you’re not going to be making a million dollars.
In today’s ads world, you’re looking at probably about $10-$20 per lead. So, if you’re running ads for a low-cost product or service, you’re not going to make much profit on each sale. Keep in mind, that not every lead even turns into a sale.
The truth is, that ads are powerful tools. They can create massive growth in your business. If you do not have the money to fully invest in ads right now, that’s okay. It is okay to use different marketing methods to grow your business.
You Can Create a Six-Figure Business, (But it Won’t be Fast or Easy.)
Success doesn’t have to be hard. It can be easy. The real question is, what does success look like to you? Fast and easy is what sells in the industry but often it’s not the reality.
Here’s the thing, business and marketing don’t move fast. You have to put time and effort into growing a profitable business with a profitable marketing strategy. Look at your business everyday and ask what it is you can do to move that needle forward.
It generally takes six to twelve months to create a successful funnel.
Failure is Not the End
If failure means simply quitting, then yes, it is a bad thing. However, to me, failure is all about feedback. It’s all about learning from what didn’t work!
Get curious about what didn’t work, why, and what you could have done differently.
Trying to replicate past success without making any pivots in the current market is also going to stagnate your business. As long as you are looking at what happening, pivoting, and not giving up, you are not a failure.
