Investments in your business should always return something on the other end. Your marketing should be profitable. Not just an expense.
There are certain specific things that each of us does or don’t do that keep us from getting the results we’re looking for. These actions keep us from creating that profitable marketing that will lead to more leads, sales, revenue generation, and the scaling of our businesses.
We all want to figure out, not just how to start or grow our business, but what we need to do to really accelerate the success.
The One Thing You Need in Place to Have Effective Marketing!
If you want to have effective marketing and you want to grow and scale your business to the high six and seven figures, you need to know where you want to go. When it comes to business and marketing, it’s not just about having goals. Each piece of your marketing should have a benchmark or an end goal. Something to reach for.
Before you ever start marketing, you need to know exactly what that is for you and your business.
If you have that clearly set before you ever even begin, you can clearly assess if your marketing efforts are working. When you know what’s working, you can do more of that and less of what it is that’s not working.
Here are 3 Steps to Take to Turn Up The Volume on Your Marketing, Leads, and Sales:
Follow these three steps and it will be like pouring gasoline on your own fire!
1. Get Clear on Your Messaging!
Your messaging is more than a simple statement. You need to get clear about exactly what it is your ideal client needs to hear in order to buy from you.
Depending on what stage of their journey they are introduced to you, they may not yet know they have a problem. They might not know who you are or that you are the solution to their problem. Your messaging needs to connect with them at every level of the customer journey.
2. Stay Consistent!
I see so often, clients and friends who start marketing, do it for a few months, fill their calendar, and then stop marketing.
Here’s the problem with that… if you stop marketing (even if you are fully booked) you stop bringing in leads. And, if you stop bringing in leads, what happens when you do have an opening on your calendar? You have no one to fill it.
If you haven’t been marketing consistently, it will take you time to ramp up. The starting and stopping of your marketing will delay your growth.
3. Know Your Numbers!
I know, numbers can be scary and overwhelming. And, knowing your numbers is one of the most important things you can do to ensure you are hitting those benchmarks we covered earlier.
If you know your numbers, you know when you hit that benchmark and how. If you aren’t hitting those benchmarks, knowing your numbers will help you to pivot and course correct. Knowing your numbers shows you the big picture and helps you to make decisions about where and how to spend your marketing dollars.
Bonus tip: BE BRAVE. Put yourself out there and stand in who you are. Then you will stand out from everyone else. When you do this, it will inspire your clients to do the same!
